Review: Simple Skincare

Hey guys! So i just popped by my local Coles store and discovered that the Simple Skincare - Cleansing Facial Wipes are 50% off! Originally the retail price of these packs are $7.58 but I scored these for only $3.98! I had heard so many good reviews on this brand from S and had always wanted to try them out, but never really wanted to spend that much on something that I didn't think was a necessity. Really happy with this find though! But since I haven't had the chance to try this out yet, S will be doing the review below!

Okay, what can I say about this product? If you don't already know, my skin is BEYOND sensitive, and can often get really dry and flaky. I'm always hesitant to try new skincare ranges as often, the poor result outweighs the intended use of the product.

Originally, I wanted to try cleansing wipes as I constantly heard great things about them. They seemed like a quick and easy way to remove my make-up and are easily portable in your handbag! So I decided to try a random Nivea packet out, without researching first. My second mistake, was that I had chosen something that was not made for sensitive skin. Let me just tell you, that did not end well! But even so, now that I know more about facial wipes (through trial and error), even wipes that claim to be for 'sensitive skin' still irritate my face.

So imagine my joy when I came across the Simple Skincare range. Low in prices and high in quality! Definitely a score! I am absolutely in LOVE with their products! They are honestly and genuinely very "kind" to my skin. I have not tried all their products but I'm fairly sure that most, if not all, are unfragranced. A big tick in my books!

I picked up two of the Simple moisturisers when they were on special at Priceline not too long ago. They are both unfragranced and have a lightweight non-greasy texture. The moisturisers apply smoothly leaving a cooling sensation on your skin. I've found that the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser works exceptionally well under foundation as a base. The Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser has a thicker consistency, which I believe works wonderfully under foundation when targeting more flaky areas of skin.

I put these moisturisers on before I sleep. I use them before applying makeup. I use them on problem areas of skin all over my body. If it's gentle enough to use on a baby, then personally, it's more than good enough for me! The retail price is around $9.99 for 125ml of moisturising goodness. So whether you have sensitive skin like mine, or are just in a market for a great moisturiser, I recommend giving the Simple Skincare range a try! :)

Swatch & Review: F.O.A - Glossy Lip Crayon

reviewed by - L.

Hey guys! So currently I have been obsessed with the Face of Australia Glossy Lip Crayons
Because I have mild chapped lips, I prefer to wear lighter make-up that won't leave my lips all flaky during the day; especially when I have work (which is all the time!). They are the perfect everyday solution for me.

Apple Crumble - this is one of my favs! It is a gorgeous bright red that just seems to light up your face. The perfect 'everyday' red lippy.

Pie La Monde - a dark brown tone with a hint of red. I found it to be a more maturer colour, which compliments my pale skin tone with a slightly warm undertone.

The gloss glides on very smoothly with a vanilla fragrance, the pigmentation builds up as you continue to go over the lips a couple of times and mainly, they are so moisturizing!! TICK TICK TICK. The wind-up packaging is convenient and easy to use, they are also colour coded so it makes it quick to figure out which colour you're grabbing. The wear time though; is pretty poor, but you would expect that from something so glossy and moisturizing!

I was lucky enough to find these two for sale at KMART for just $2!!! And now they follow me everywhere I go. You can find these gorgeous Lip Crayons at Priceline for only $4.95 each, so i suggest you go to your nearest store and grab one now, because they are so worth it!!

Swatch & Review: SAVVY by DB - Lipsticks

reviewed by - S.

Hey there lipstick junkies! Boy have I got a treat for you! If you haven't already discovered these fantastic lipsticks, then I highly recommend you stop what you're doing, get in your car and make your way to your nearest Priceline store. There are a range of colours to choose from, different finishes and are all quite pigmented and creamy. They don't have a scent at all really, which is something my sensitive skin very much so appreciates! And the best part is, they are decently priced and often have "3for2" sales at Priceline. Just keep an eye out!

I have been using these lipsticks for quite some time now, and absolutely love them! Definitely an Australian drugstore-gem!

Below are some swatches of the lipsticks I currently own!

Colour: Blushing Pink
Texture: Creamy
Finish: Frosty
Retail Price: $4.99
Comments: This lipstick colour is perfect for those who are fans of rosy shades! Where it is creamy, it can become a little more drying over time. So be sure to wear some lip balm underneath!

Colour: Blossom
Texture: Creamy but drying
Finish: Matte
Retail Price: $6.99
Comments: This is part of the Long-Lasting Matte Lipstick range. The colour is very vibrant and youthful, bright and fun and absolutely gorgeous on my warmer skin-tone. As it is a matte lipstick it can become quite drying, but that's nothing a little lip balm can't fix!

Colour: Tiger Lily
Texture: Creamy but drying
Finish: Matte
Retail Price: $6.99
Comments: This is part of the Long-Lasting Matte Lipstick range. I never usually go for such orange tones, but this colour comes off very beautifully. Whether you want to wear it boldly, or whether you're just looking to dab on a natural "nude" lip with a hint of colour, this lipstick can definitely do the trick! Application method is key!

Colour: Coral
Texture: Very Creamy
Finish: Satin
Retail Price: $4.99
Comments: This lipstick is more on the warmer side of reds. It is an orange-red colour perfect for those with more golden tones (not to say that cooler undertoned ladies can't pull it off!)

Colour: Cherry
Texture: Very Creamy
Finish: Satin
Retail Price: $4.99
Comments: This lipstick has a slightly cooler undertone. Great for making your teeth look whiter! It is very rich in colour and is the perfect red lippy to try if you've never had the guts to wear red before!

I sincerely hope this post has been helpful. These lipsticks really are amazing and I hope you get to try them out! I know I will definitely be going back to pick up some more shades! :) Bye for now!

Swatch & Review: Drugstore Finds

reviewed by - L.

Yesterday S and I did some light shopping, I managed to scoop up these two gorgeous lipsticks for under $20! I usually don't go for really pinky colours but thought I should at least get a few just in case. Below is my personal review on the two lipsticks.

KMART LIPS - Crème Lipstick was a new brand to me. KMART recently updated their entire make-up range and with it they introduced these (I'm not so sure) KMART 'homebrand' cosmetics. The down-side with the update was that they removed all testers and shoved everything in sealed packages. Therefore, I couldn't test out the products before purchasing it. So on the cute packaging alone I decided to buy it; it was a gamble worth taking. This lipstick glided on really smoothly for me and it had the perfect amount of colour and sheen to it. I really liked this shade because it's a very versatile colour and very natural, I could see myself wearing this shade with just about anything. It's also got a faint fragrance, like a mix between crayons and play-doh but very very subtle, as strange as that sounds it doesn't really bother me and you don't really notice it. The only problem I would have with this lipstick is that after awhile it starts to feel pretty dry even though it says it's "moisture rich".

SAVVY by DB - Blossom "Long Lasting Matte Lipstick". Unfortunately, I often have really dry chapped lips. So for me this lipstick, being matte, was slow to start. I had to moisturize moisturize moisturize like crazy before I could even think to apply the lipstick or else it would just dragg on my lips creating blotchy clumps and look really messy. Besides my bad lip genes, the lipstick colour is a very vibrant/playful pink and because it is highly pigmented not only is one application more than enough but it highlighted my chapped lips and just looked really splotchy. I don't think it would be a lipstick that I would use unless I'm having a good lip day. The fragrance is very very subtle almost unnoticeable which, personally, I appreciate a lot. I love the finish look that matte lipsticks have but they just don't agree with me, as sad as that is.
